Technical Specifications
Our easi-joists comply with all the relevant British Standards for resistance
to sound, fire and deflection.
Our joists have been tested for fire resistance in accordance with the
requirements of BS476-21 and meet the standards for sound resistance Part E of Schedule
1 of the building regulations. They are limited to a maximum deflection limit of
14mm as to the NHBC regulations.
easi-joists supplied by us are usually designed for a domestic floor load of
1500N/m2 (which is standard in the UK), unless otherwise requested. We also add
an additional load of 250N/m2 for insulation and plaster board, 250N/m2 for
floor boarding and 250N/m2 for partition walls. easi-joists
are not designed to support block or load bearing walls.
As well as being supported on wallplates as usual easi-joists have the added
advantage of being able to supported on the top chord. This means that you can
cut down on metalwork and can also have the floor designed to hide any steels
within the floor. Below are examples of the two:
